CREATE YOUR LIFE METHOD

The Art of Being

Feel more of the life you’re already living.

You’re here. Let yourself arrive.

There can be a whole day between waking up and noticing how you feel. Make room to breathe, listen, and meet this moment with a little more kindness.

Your life is happening now. Be here for it.

WHAT YOU’RE PRACTICING

Being is the practice of becoming aware.

Of your thoughts, your body, your senses, and your emotions. Of the world around you—and how you experience it.

Your emotions can be a language of the soul, inviting you to notice what moves you, what needs care, and what matters deeply to you.

Being means making space to listen with curiosity and compassion. You don’t have to change what you feel before you can be present with it.

What it looks like in real life.

01

Observe your thoughts.

Meditation is a chance to notice what passes through your mind—and what you feel in response.

  • Gently name what appears: a memory, a worry, a plan, or a judgment.
  • Notice any emotion or sensation that comes with it. Does it feel pleasant, unpleasant, or neutral?
  • Let the thought pass without chasing it or pushing it away. Return to your breath or body.

Later, reflect or journal: Is this a familiar story? Is it useful now? Does it support the way I want to live? What might need understanding or care?

02

Come back to your body.

Your body offers somewhere to rest your attention when your mind feels busy. Explore sensation with curiosity.

  • Feel your feet meeting the ground, your breath moving, or the support beneath you.
  • Notice warmth, coolness, texture, tension, or ease.
  • On a walk or while cooking, attend to sounds, colors, aromas, and tastes.

Giving your attention to sensation can help mental chatter settle. Thoughts may still arise; each gentle return is part of the practice.

03

Step into a possible story.

Visualization invites you to imagine a life you want to experience, with the detail of a book you can step inside.

  • What does the place look like? What sounds surround you?
  • How does the air feel—its temperature, movement, or scent? What textures and materials are you touching?
  • Who is with you? What are you doing, eating, or tasting? How do you feel?

Imagined scenes can stir real emotions and bodily sensations. Explore the details, notice your response, and discover what matters to you.

GATHERED FROM LIFE

Old wisdom. Everyday practice.

CYLM draws on Octavio’s experience with yoga, meditation, breathwork, visualization, and reflective coaching. These practices invite you to notice the relationship between your thoughts, emotions, body, and attention.

A scene imagined in the mind can bring a feeling into the body. A sensation in the body can become an anchor for attention. Observing a thought can help you recognize a story you have been repeating.

Notice. Feel. Reflect. Choose.

  • In meditation: observe a thought and your response, then gently return.
  • In visualization: explore a possible future through your senses and feelings.
  • In reflection or journaling: ask what a recurring thought might reveal, whether it is useful, and how you want to respond.

You can choose where to place your attention and practice returning to it. There is no need to force a feeling, empty your mind, or make every thought positive. Letting go can begin with understanding, rather than pushing something away.

Try it in the next minute.

Choose one small practice. Keep your eyes open or close them, whichever feels comfortable.

  • Arrive · 20 seconds. Feel your feet and the support beneath you. Notice the air on your skin and one sound nearby.
  • Imagine · 20 seconds. Picture one ordinary moment you would love to live. Add a color, a texture, a sound, and perhaps an aroma or taste.
  • Notice · 20 seconds. What emotion or body sensation appears? If a thought arrives, name it gently and return to what you sense.

Afterward: write one sentence: “I noticed…” You can explore it further in your journal, or simply let the moment be enough.
